Trivia
Ridge Canipe who plays the young Dean also played a character named Dean in a 2005 TV movie called Supernatural.

Actress Erica Carroll previously appeared as a nurse in the episode "Faith".

When recounting other places the "Shtriga" hit Sam says that it had been to "Brockway, Odgenville, and North Haverbrook" These same (fictional) towns were swindled out of a fortune by unscruplous con-man Lyle Lanley in The Simpsons episode " Marge vs. the Monorail."

The cartoon that Sam is seen watching during Dean's first childhood flashback is Thundercats, an 80's cartoon about a group of cat-like creatures who battle evil mutants on a foreign planet.

Webmasters' Thoughts

Hoppy says, "Could they have cast cuter kids to play the young Sam and Dean?  I don't think so!  I love how Sam always had hair that was too long and shaggy and was kinda pouty and whiny even back then. (Still love ya anyway, Sammy.)  The flashbacks are great and I love how they show how much Dean has really had to take care of Sam and practically raised him when John was away, and how the events of this episode translate into how fiercely protective Dean still is of Sam.  Also, the kid that plays Michael?  Fantastic. His snarky line of 'Two queens.' kills me every time."

Jen says, "Nothing yet!"
