Trivia
This episode marks the first appearance of Nicky Lynn Aycox as Meg Masters.

The professor is played by someone very famous to fans of the X-Files, William B. Davis who is best known as the Cigarette Smoking Man.

As Dean goes to leave the Professor's office, a camera can be seen on the left-hand side of the screen near the lamp.

There are several references to the movie The Wizard of Oz: 1) The Scarecrow, 2) A 'If you had brains' quote, 3) a "into the cellar!" moment, 4) apple trees; 5) the girl's name of Emily - "Em" for short and the same name as Dorothy's aunt; and 6) Emily living with her aunt and uncle.

Webmasters' Thoughts

Hoppy says, "Well, it's no surprise that there would eventually be a rift between Sam and Dean, albeit a short one.  Their fight is very believable as is Sam's urgent need to find their father.  However, it's that wonderful bond between the brothers that brings Sam back just in time to save Dean.  I love how Dean realizes how important it is to have Sam around, and Sam also realizes how it's more important for them to stick together.  And I can't say anything without commenting on the introduction of Meg.  The twist at the end was not wholly unexpected but still incredibly interesting and definitely makes you want to know more about her character."

Jen says, "Nothing yet!"
